I have at last prevailed over corona.
Ultimately, December was a haze of being ill and having to isolate indoors, followed by a whirlwind of time with family for the holidays. Between the two experiences, my brain very much enjoyed a change of pace and could reflect on important matters, like murder.
The plan for ohmurder.com in 2023
Work on the first installment in the Iris Drake series continues. I’ve got a lot to share about the process I’ve been using to write this book, which looks quite different from methods I used for my previous novel. Mystery truly is a different animal than other genres.
Here is my goal for content coming this year:
Weekly on Mondays: a written post. This will either be thoughts on craft, or one of things I plan to share monthly, like reading round-ups. The overview of craft + process posts will be available to everyone, but the nitty gritty how-to elements will be for paid subscribers. (What I did will be free, exactly how I did it takes a lot of effort to share clearly with screenshots and such, hence paid)
Weekly on Fridays: a podcast episode. 1-2 times per month, we’ll have a conversation with a mystery writer and the other weeks I’ll be sharing my audio diary for the past week’s writing. Podcast episodes are available immediately for paid subscribers, and one month later for free peeps.
As there is more to share throughout the year, I’ll adjust and update this plan. This site is an experiment, just like everything in my writing life, so we’ll see how this evolves over time.
I hope 2023 has started out well for you and that you’re excited for more mystery this year. Thank you for reading and for being a part of the community.

Excited to see how mystery plotting continues evolving!
Happy New Year Caroline. I'm glad you made it out the other side of corona.
